The magical falls of West Sweden

The Trollhättan Falls, just one hour north of Gothenburg, are dry throughout the year, except for July when the water level of Lake Vänern rises and sets the falls a-falling once again. "Waterfall Day" is celebrated from mid July and is one of the most popular and most well-attended festivals in Sweden.

The whole town springs to life and offers something for all the family: a handicraft market, restaurant tents, music and dancing, outdoor cinema, and a "duck-race". The compact town centre is inviting with its array of shops and boutiques, restaurants and cafés.

West Sweden can be reached with direct flights to Gothenburg, including with British Airways and Easyjet.
