Meet African animals and our biggest Swedish predators-wolf, bear, wolverine and lynx at the biggest zoo in western Sweden. The only wild cat in Scandinavia is in demand, and the first two animals moved in, in the summer of 2003.
New home for the brown bear
From Tuesday June 15 you can explore much more about our brown bears since they now live in a brand new area of 14000 m². It contains a big lake and that's important because bears loves being in water, playing and hunting. There is also a new wooden walkway through the area over 3 meters above the ground. Take a pause in the new room with big panorama windows in order to get really close to the bears. This is the biggest investment in the history of the Zoo and it creates a brand new world to the bears. Next to the bears the wolves lives and nearby you can find the lynx - all Swedish predators.
Conservation programmes
The Zoo is involved in several conservation programmes aimed at saving endagered species. Tjis includes the African elephant, the whote rhino, the Serbian tiger, the orang-utang and the large Swedish predators.
