Grannturen, 2day´s riding

The ride, Grannturen, runs around the lake Grann in Dalsland. The lake is located in hilly terrain with a touch of pure wilderness. You ride on trails and roads and pass many historic sites. Clean water and rich wildlife is the essence of these surroundings.
Founded in 1994, Dalslands activities and their riding excursions have always been popular. You ride in western saddles and we take off from our farm in Steneby, Dalsland.
The tour can be booked as your own group activity with at least four participants or we will make sure you will be placed in to a suitable outgoing group.

Day 1.

We gather at Dalslands activities at. 9:00 am. Following is a presentation of our horses, stables and equipment. At 11 am. we will depart by horse towards the farm of Vägne.
All your personal equipment for your overnight stay will be transported by car to the campsite, except for what you need during the ride. These belongings, like swimsuit and rainwear, you will be able to bring along in your saddle bag
After we’ve passed the farm Stora Havden, we head in to the wilderness of the woods of Dalsland.
After about 2 hours we come down to the lake Grann. Once here we usually stop for a swim or a picnic. After this we continue our ride alongside the lake and in to an old dirt road where we pass many old charming cottages.
As lunchtime comes along we’ll find a suitable spot to put our temporary kitchen up, to cook a suitable meal. Once our hunger is stilled, we ride south, and come to our overnight camping place by Vägne at about 6 pm.
Once here, it is time to care for the horses. We feed them, make sure they are in good shape and let them out in their paddock. It is now time to settle down in the tipi, and cook up a barbeque, sitting around the fire on reindeer skins. Non-alcohol beer and water is included in the meal.

Day 2.

Good morning! It is time for breakfast for the riders and our horses. After this we pack up our equipment and saddle up.
At approx. 10 am. We ride east on to the old road leading to the farm of Norebyn. As we feel like it we’ll stop for a cup of coffee.
Right around noon we come down to the southern end of the lake and ride on the east side towards the Steneby direction. We pass the Falkholts inn and depending on opening hours, there are various options on where we have our lunch. Either at the inn or cooked in the wild with our portable kitchen.
The ride is expected to be finished at about 3 pm, when we are back at the stables.
Your luggage have been retrieved and taken back to Dalslands activities.
