According to Lasse Lundberg, a close friend of the family, she was well-liked by the townspeople because she was unpretentious and down-to-earth. Over dinner with Lundberg in late summer 1982, Bergman mentioned that she would like to 'do something' for Fjällbacka. That 'something' turned out to be Ingrid Bergman square.
