Stay a stone’s throw from the city centre with restaurants, cafés, shops and not least Karlsborg fortress, just around the corner. You can stay in your own caravan, mobile home or tent, or if you prefer you can rent a cabin or a ‘tree stump’ cabin. There is a wonderful sandy beach at Karlsborg Camping with jetties and a large playground, making it an ideal spot for families with children.
More than just a campsite
Karlsborg Camping has a beautiful location with its own sandy beach on the shore of Bottensjön, near to Göta Canal and Lake Vättern. Tiveden National Park is nearby, where you can walk along the trails, go fishing or just enjoy the beautiful countryside. The campsite offers many activities for those who feel energetic, including mini golf and beach volleyball. You can rent bicycles, or if you want to get out onto the lake you can rent a canoe, boat or pedal boat. There is ferry that you can board at Karlsborg called the Sandön, which does tours up and down the canal. Another option is to visit Karlsborg fortress, either on your own or with a guide who will take you to parts that are normally closed.
