Bicycle 2 days along the Göta Canal

Our most popular bicycle package along the Gota Canal. Bicycle 68 km for 2 days, along the Göta Canal. Starting in Sjötorp.

Day 1 (38 km)

The tour starts in the locality of Sjötorp, where the Göta Canal flows out in the Lake Vänern. You pick up your bike at the Sjötorp Upplevelsecenter near the touristoffice.

There are 8 locks in the locality of Sjötorp. Soon you will pass the first ones, Sjötorp 4 and 5. The locks are helping the canal to elevate 20 meters over the surface of the lake Vänern. The canal runs through a forest and then goes out in the open fields. It is surrounded by an avenue of planted trees which creates a unique landscape environment.

On your way you will pass interesting and idyllic lock environments such as Lyrestad, Norrkvarn, Hajstorp, Töreboda and Wassbacken.

In Wassbacken dinner is served and you will spend the night in a cottage.

Day 2 (30 km)

After breakfast you start the journey back to Sjötorp. Today you can watch things you might missed yesterday. Back to Sjötorp it will go downwards at every lock.

Back in Sjötorp you return the bike and the tour ends with a lunch served at restaurant Kajutan.
