Sights along the canal
Here you will find a lot of information about attractions along the Göta Canal between lakes Vänern and Vättern. Visit the locks in Sjötorp and Hajstorp.
In Karlsborg you can visit the Fortress and go on the exciting Fortress Adventure.

Museums
Göta Canal exhibitions in Sjötorp tell of the canal’s exciting history. Forsvik is worth a visit for its genuine old industrial environment. There are several other interesting museums along the canal.
Lina ferry
Just south of the station house in Töreboda you can take a ride with Europe’s smallest ferry in regular traffic – the Lina. She shuttles passengers across the canal for just 50 öre.
Visit Forsvik
At Forsvik you will find the canal’s oldest and highest lock, built in 1813 and still in use. The industrial environment with roots from the medieval period comes alive with exhibitions and cultural events every summer.
Lake Vänern
Lake Vänern is an inland sea, with Europe’s largest lake archipelago, with nearly 22,000 islands and skerries. The biggest archipelago region is around Mariestad, with the islands of Torsö and Brommö.
