    Läckö Castle

    Läckö Castle is best known as Magnus de la Gardie´s magnificent castle on the shores of Lake Vänern, but it is much older by far. In 1298 Brynolf Algotsson, Bishop of Skara, laid the foundations for a fortified castle here.

    The exhibitions of Läckö castle are very popular and attract thousands of visitors every year.

    During July and August an opera is held in the evenings in the courtyard.

    Café Stallet serves coffea as well as the dish of the day. Restaurant Fataburen offers lunch and dinner menues, with local specialities from lake Vänern.

    Opening hours The Castle is open 1st of May-30th of September

    1/5–8/6: Open for guided tours, on the hour every hour 11–16. Adults 60 SEK, children & young people up to 26 years 30 SEK. The house is closed to the public on the 11/6.

    10/6–26/8: Open daily 10–18. Guided tours every hour from 11–17. Entry to the house, the garden & exhibitions incl. guided tour: Adults 80 SEK, children & young people up to 26 years go free. »Castle Adventures for Children« 30 SEK. Shop open daily 10–18.

    27/8–30/9: Open for guided tours, on the hour every hour 11–15. Weekend also 11-16. Adults 60 SEK, children & young people up to 26 years 30 SEK.
    Directions The Castle is situated 25 kilometers north of Lidköping on the Kållandsö insel. Follow the brown roadmarks "Läckö slott".

    You can also reach the castle by bus 132 from the centre of Lidköping.
