The History of Strömstad
Strömmen became Strömstad. Strömstad was founded in the 16th century at the mouth of the river Strömsån. It was given the name ‘Strömmen’, which means ‘The Stream’.
The Koster Islands
Islands in the Skagerrak. The Koster islands are Sweden’s westernmost inhabited islands and are easily reached by regular ferries.

Marine National Park
9th of September 2009 Sweden´s first Marine National Park "Kosterhavet" was inaugerated! The marine environment here is influenced by the Atlantic and it includes habitats and species found nowhere else in Swedish waters.
