Hotel with bar and restaurant, which is situated on the cliff facing east, 100 metres from the harbour and pier of Ekenäs on the island of South Koster outside of Strömstad. The Koster islands, consisting of North and South Koster, are Sweden’s most westerly inhabited islands and are mostly covered by nature reserve. Since the islands are virtually car-free, they attract large numbers of cyclists and hikers. South Koster is a perfect island for cycling, and bikes can be hired at every pier on the island. . Both islands have a variety of natural features, with lovely swimming beaches, moors, small forests, orchids and rocky landscapes with clear traces of the Ice Age.
Kosterhavet is Sweden’s first marine national park, a unique environment with the country’s highest marine biodiversity, which opened in September 2009. Created to protect and share a unique marine environment in the seas around the Koster Islands, its habitats are more typical of the open ocean than coast waters.
The Restaurant
the restaurant has seats for 90 persons and offers a charming view of Ekenäs harbour embedded in the greenery of the oaks.
In summer the outdoor restaurant is open and you sit at the north sailing channel of the Kosterfjord and the whole fjord is in front of you!
The hotel have modern buildings from 2006 and an older building renovated in 2004. Here you find rooms with a magnificent view, modern facilities and great comfort.
The doublerooms now all have private shower and toilet.
All rooms are located close to the mainbuildning where breakfast is served in the old restaurang. Here you also find the reception, the bar and the libarary.
