The world heritage of Tanum

In December 1994 the rock carving of Tanum were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The area covers about 45 square kilometres of the central part of the parish of Tanum.

At 909 km2 Tanum is the largest of the Bohuslän municipalities area-wise. Most inhabitants live along the coast, fewer in the forest and agricultural areas inland.
