Falks Grave

Jonas Falk came early in life on the edge with justice. After tried his luck in Stockholm he went back to his roots so that he at a suitable moment could rob the postlift that went between Jönköping and Sandhem. Falk and his partner Frid provided themselves with gunpowder in Hjo and weapons in Habo.

One dark autumnnight both the robbers hid to attack the postlift at a gate on the road between Broholm and the postyard Sibbarp in Sandhem.

When the lift came in the dark Falk shot the postlift with his gun and Frid attacked the postlifts friend with a hammer.

The robbers stole 200 crowns and hurried back to Stockholm to escape fom justice. In Stockholm Falk was allready wanted and during a interrogation it came to light that they could catch both the robbers from Sandhem.

When the postlift died of the injurys the robbers got the verdict of guilty with the penalty beheading. After the petition for mercy Frids penatly became a life long penal servitude instead of beheading. Falk refused to ask for petition for mercy.

On the summer you always see flowers in the grave. Nobody knows who's putting the flowers there, but the legend passes among the peolpe in the village...
