Äggost is a special kind of cheese cake, which was common in the southern part of Bohuslän. It was served as a dessert or as a dish with herring. Today it is a beloved treat served on special occasions.
4 l whole milk
4 dl sour cream
2 dl sugar
1 dl cold water
Beat the eggs and pour them with sour cream in a pan. Add the milk and bring slowly to the boil while stirring the mixture. When the milk starts to curdle remove the pan from the stove and add the water. Leave for 10 minutes. Scoop up the curdles into a form with holes. Spread sugar between the layers. Let it cool in the form.
Serve with blackberries and just enjoy!
