The Uddevalla fishing permit is valid for the whole family and is available on a weekly or yearly basis. It applies to the lakes Kölnevattet, Vrångevattnet, Långagna and Krokevattnet at Herrestadsfjället, as well as Stora Köperödssjön close to road 44 on the way to Trollhättan. These lakes contain mainly perch and pike. Day permits are available for game fishing at Herrestadsfjället, which includes the lakes Metsjön, Smedsvattnet, Stora Örevattnet and Gråtåsvattnet. There is a special movable landing stage at Metsjön with wheelchair accessibility.
Season permits, annual permits and day permits are available for fishing in the Bäveån river. Fishing for salmon and trout is permitted in central Uddevalla between 1 April and 30 September with a day or season permit. A family permit is also available for fishing perch and pike further upstream, east of the Fossen dam.
Three types of fishing permit are available for Bredfjället. Abborrvattnet, Stora Holmevattnet and Långvattnet with game fishing for both rainbow trout and salmon trout. In addition, there is a permit for natural waters which covers Stora and Lilla Skarsjön, Stora Mörtevattnet, Lidvattnet and Lilla Holmevattnet. Pike and perch can be caught here. The third type of permit applies to Grinnerödssjön close to Backamo Lägerplats. You can fish for pike, perch, tench and burbot here. Day, week, season and year permits are available.
For the fly or spinning sea fishers with their sights on sea trout, there are suitably shallow waters in the various bays such as at Bodele or the inner parts of Ljungskileviken; there are also good fishing waters outside Lyckorna and at Ulvesund.
