The Waterfalls
The powercompany Vattenfall releases 300 000 litres of water per second into the old river gorge at special times every week during the summer months (May through September).
The amazing sight is a dramatic demonstration of the natural forces that engineers have succeeded in taming with locks and dams.
When the gates open you will witness the power of 300 000 litres of water per second rushing out into its old furrow.
These are the times for 2010:
MAY, JUNE & SEPTEMBER: Saturday 15.00 (3 pm)
JULY & AUGUST: Every day 15.00 (3 pm)
Attention! During the Waterfall Festival (Fallens Dagar) in July other times!
Special times during May - September. The rest of the year only for groups booked in advance.
