Perhaps it’s quite simply that the chefs, like so many others, thrive in the city’s atmosphere. Atmosphere is not something you need to look for when visiting Göteborg.

Sjömagasinet

The exclusive fish and seafood restaurant Sjömagasinet welcomes the guests with a fantastic view of the harbour entrance. The building that houses Sjömagasinet was erected in 1775 by the Swedish East India Company.


Leif Mannerström, the restaurateur and owner of Sjömagasinet, is one of Sweden’s most respected chefs and Team Mannerström arranges events on a national level regularly. The food is always top quality and the wine list boasts over 800 articles.
The restaurant is decorated with a star in Guide Michelin.

Restaurant 28+

Restaurant 28+ is a well-known restaurant with a good reputation and boosts one of Gothenburg’s most well-assorted wine cellars. The very fine chef Hans Borén masters the kitchen and delivers a luxurious assembly of courses. When 28+ started out almost twenty years ago the main offering was cheese - in all shapes, forms and ages.

Nowadays the restaurant serves an international blend of food - always with the highest of quality in mind - and it’s recommended to make reservations well in advance.

As the restaurateur Ulf Johansson put it: “ - Quality is worth that bit extra”.

Thörnströms kök

The chef and owner Håkan Thörnström runs a modern Swedish cuisine with European influences in an intimate restaurant that has reservations for 65 guests.

One of Håkan’s many events in the culinary world is arranging the Nobel Prize menu for the King of Sweden and his distinguished guests. Now you can order the same menu from the man that cooked it all up! Or perhaps try an eight Course set menu with desserts and wines beyond the ordinary?

Fiskekrogen

Fish and seafood restaurant Fiskekrogen creates the menus from the finest ingredients of the day and season. Experience the enjoyable acquaintance of lobsters, crayfish, shrimps, clams and oysters.
Fiskekrogen serves their guests the highest quality I food and houses over 300 different wines.

 

Lasse Ahlström is the poud proprioter of this stylish establishment and he's serving guests from far and near with the firm but sensitive help from the two chefs Mikael Skager and Magnus Andersson.

Basement restaurang & bar

 The Basement is located in the heart of Gothenburg, just a three-minute walk from “the Avenue”.
The well renowned owner and award-winning chef Ulf Wagner has the formula for a successful restaurant: “A chefs highest wish is that the guests try as many courses as possible and the sommelier wants them to taste the best wines. Bartenders work at their peak in a bar that’s full of life”.

The menu offers a great variety in food and taste and the specially composed “Wagner’s Choice” includes a four-, six- or eight courses meal. On fridays the Basement adds “something extra” in food and wine - or in the presentation for the guests over-all enjoyable experience.
