Better Information for Visitors with Disabilities!

How wide is the entrance to the hotel? Is it possible for me to get to my room? Does the restaurant have a toilet that I will be able to use? Yes – being both a tourist and disabled is not always that easy…!

However, there is intensive work being carried out for some time now among many of West Sweden’s tourist attractions to better describe how they look and function, particularly concerning visitors with disabilities. The information about the attraction in question is described based on five difficulties:

- Hearing impaired
- Visually impaired
- Mobility problems
- Substance intolerance
- Learning difficulties

This way, tailored information can be given to those with disabilities, allowing them to make up their own minds whether they will be able to visit the attraction in question or not.

To find the tourist attractions that have accessibility information, click in the square next to the symbols  before conducting your search. All objects with accessibility information are then displayed. To obtain accessibility information about a particular tourist attraction, simply follow the symbols until you reach the webpage in question. Once there, you can search for information based on the disability or disabilities of interest to you.
