Contemporary package

Sweden is a modern country and at the forefront of cutting-edge design, music and food. Spend a couple of days shopping in Gothenburg, admiring innovative local brands such as Acne and Velour, stopping for breaks at some of the Swedes’ favourite coffee hotspots. Swedes are always very close to nature, so experience urban nature life by kayaking in the south archipelago just outside of Gothenburg.

Day 1.

Check in at the design-led boutique hotel Avalon in Gothenburg, which is feng-shui-certified and features a roof top pool.
 
Morning activity: Rhösska Museum of Fashion, displaying temporary exhibitions on cutting-edge design, colour and function, including Chinese and Japanese designs.
  
Lunch at Fond, next to the Art museum, serving an innovative blend of classical Swedish, modern and European culinary delights.
 
Afternoon shopping around Vallgatan, including eclectic clothes and shoe boutiques, such as Nudie and the Gothenburg brand, Velour.
 
Swedish Fika at Da Matteo Torrefazione, Vallgatan 5, a popular coffee house with the locals.
 
Dinner at Familjen, reminisce of a modern, extended living room.

Kayaking in Bohuslän

Day 2.

Morning activity: Kayaking in Gothenburg and the southern archipelago. With its 8,000 islands, West Sweden is the perfect playground for kayaking.
  
Lunch in the archipelago, for example, at the charming Styrsö Skäret.
 
Afternoon activity: Volvo Museum, a fascinating insight into its development since 1927.
 
Alternative activity: Museum of World Culture, showcasing the importance of our global future in an ever-changing world.
 
Swedish Fika - enjoy a quality coffee, Swedish-style at Café Kringlan in the old district of Haga (where they serve the world's largest cinnamon bun)
 
Dinner at Swedish Taste, which serves innovative, modern Swedish cooking, including locally-sourced sea food.
