4 Mars – 29 April: ANU TUOMINEN, Finland – Nordic Watercolour Museum, Skärhamn

Anu Tuominen (f.1961) turns simple, abandoned or forgotten everyday items, often found at flea markets, into delicate art. She collects objects, orders, sorts, and alters them to dissolve their original function and create something unexpected from the well-known. Objects get a new life when Tuominen staples, lines or hangs them up. Containers, yarn, buttons, postcards, pens and similar items are put together in surprising combinations. Colour and form become a powerful visual language, in which humour is mixed with nostalgia. Anu Tuominen is one of Finland's most talked about conceptual artists.
