It houses art and collections of interesting objects from Dalsland such as peasant furniture, cups, a fine collection of silver, as well as examples of art by local masters.
On the upper floor is the Art Gallery, which hosts temporary exhibits. In the old building next door is Café Bonaparte and the surrounding garden is a sculpture park. The museum has its own guest pier.
