It does this by participating in cultural and development projects and by providing service and support to local governments, organisations, folklore societies, companies and private individuals. The permanent exhibitions focus on Bohuslän´s coastline and border with Norway. In addition, some 20 temporary exhibitions are shown annually. The art gallery features contemporary art. The museum is located in the old port town of Uddevalla, in a beautiful quayside building.
