Dalslands Konstmuseum
Dalsland Museum, opened in September 1995 by the King and Queen of Sweden.it has has become renowned as one of the most beautiful museums in the Nordic Region . This museum is home to the best Dalsland has to offer in terms of art, silver, furniture, etc. Here, you can see works by Otto Hesselbom, Olof Sager-Nelson, Sixten Lundbohm and Georg Suttner, among others. The great exhibition hall is used as a concert hall, as well as for the large art collection.
Dalsland Museum, the first building to be built ecologically in all respects in Sweden, is situated on a hill with views over Dalsland Canal in picturesque Upperud, where Napoleon's niece Christine Bonaparte once lived. This French connection is emphasised in Café Bonaparte, which is located in the old building.

Guided Tours 700:sek for 45 min, 800 SEK for guided tours during the weekend (must book in advance) in English and Swedish.
From Mellerud: 3 kms North of Mellerud on route 45 take a left towards Håverud. Stay on this road for about 9 kms and then take a right towards Upperud. The museum is on your right after 2 kms.
