Sjötorp is an idyllic place in the summertime, and its locks are a popular tourist attraction. In the harbour you will find a Canal- and maritime museum, a motor museum and the tourist agency.
In the evening you can eat in one of the restaurants while enjoying the sun setting over the lake Vänern.
The old road along Göta Canal has become a popular cycling path.
