The former workers accommodation, building no 1, has since mid 1990s been operated as a hostel. Under supervision of the Swedish Tourist Association.

Forsvik is one of Sweden's oldest industrial environments with the present buildings and remains illustrating the development during the second half of 19th century.

Today it is an industrial heritage site, and a part of the formal regional cultural heritage organisation with conservators and architects working with conserving, restoring and relating the history of industrial heritage.
