Kåreby Mound (Kårebyhögen)

Kårebyhögen is one of the biggest burial mounds in Dalsland, 2 metres high and 20 metres in diameter. Its precise age is not known, but it was probably created during the Bronze Age or Iron Age. King Kåre is reputed to lie here, wrapped in an ox skin which loses one hair every hundred years. The world will survive for as long as there is hair on this skin!
