Tisselskog church
The precursor was an old timbered church from the 1600s. A tower was built 1727 and is today the only remaining item from the original church. The nave was knocked down in 1877 and a new nave was built the year after. A hundred years later, 1977, the church was restored. During this restoration the roof and the connection to the tower were re-covered with slate. The medieval baptismal basin is made of soapstone and Lars Hasselbom from Lidköping made the baroque altarpiece in 1735. It was restored in 1977. Magnussons organ builders in Gothenburg made the organ in1978.
The original wall in the church porch has been uncovered, while the ceiling is a reconstruction of the painted boards from earlier ceilings. This is where the iron crosses are kept. These wrought-iron crosses are the oldest preserved in Tisselskog.
