    Ale Viking Age Village

    Ale Viking Age Village in Häjered situated not far from were Sweden´s only Viking Age ship from the 10 th centuryhas been found. The first house that´s under construction is a Viking Age(1000-1520 AD) dwelling inspired from a chieftains farmsted on Tissö in Denmark. The house is decorated with carved, woodsculptured ornaments. Mainly Viking Age tools and methodsare being used. Beside is a workshop situated.There´re information boards in English and German. Between mondays-fridays 8-16 (8 a.m.-4 p.m.) you ´re welcome to follow the work in the village.

    Directions How to drive there from the south: Drive main road, R 45 north from Gothenburg towards Trollhättan about 30 km (18 mi.).Pass Alafors and turn off the road to the left hand side just before Älvängen. The farmhouse were you can park is red and easily seen from the road.
    Driving time: 25 minutes from Gothenburg. 350 km/210 mi. A small road and path leads to the house/village. A walk for about 10 minutes.

    By bus : Buses no. 402 and403 from the central station, Gothenburg. Ask the driver where to get off. The journey takes about 45 minutes. PassPersgården and ther´re signs to follow. A walk for about 10-15 minutes.
