Trout fishing in Säveån

This beautiful 6 km stretch of the Säveån river runs from Hedefors power station to Floda and is located in a nature reserve. It has a natural stock of trout and every year specimens of 2 kg or more are caught here. The best time for fishing is usually May and June, when the mayflies swam and the angler can enjoy some exciting and rewarding fishing on a dry fly. The upper 2 km of the stretch are reserved solely for fly-fishing. Fishing permits are available from Specialhörnan Stenkullen, tel: 0302-231 01, and Statoil Floda, tel: 0302-309 45. Young people up to the age of 13 can fish free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
