Havets Hus in Lysekil
What is Havets Hus?
Havets Hus is a salt water aquarium where you can see around 100 different species from the Gullmar Fjord and the sea outside Lysekil.
The aquarium offers lots of exciting experiences. You start your journey from the area next to the shore and continue through the different habitats of the ocean, down to the greatest depths. Touch starfish and hermit crabs in the petting tanks, learn in a playful way at the Havets Hus Beach School, go on a seal safari, be inspired on a guided tour, watch divers feed the animals, enjoy a game of miniture golf, or take part in one of our themed weekends. The range of activities varies throughout the year.
Lovely fish tanks
Havets Hus has a total of 40 tanks. From the biggest tunnel aquarium, which contains 140,000 litres of salt water, to the smallest 70-litre tanks. You can walk through the tunnel aquarium without getting your feet wet, surrounded by water, among piked dogfish, cod and congers.
In the middle of the aquarium, you can sit in front of the cylinder-shaped tank and let yourself be fascinated by the marine life behind the large acrylic glass window. The room turns into a cinema several times a day, when short marine biology films are shown.
The water for Havets Hus is brought in continuously from the Gullmar Fjord, at a depth of 32 metres. Only the best is good enough for our animals.
