A thriving centre of culture

Bohusläns Museum is a thriving cultural centre with a wide range of public programmes. Lectures, music evenings, themed days and exciting exhibitions will give you many reasons to come back, time after time.

Lots to see and do

Check out the different activities at the museum on Hyllan (the Shelf) and in the auditorium. Temporary exhibitions are shown on the ground floor. Also on this floor are the Contemporary Art Gallery and the Boat Hall, which exhibits traditional small boats as well as recreational craft. The upper floor shows art and exhibitions about Bohuslän and Uddevalla’s countryside and history.

Large museum shop

The museum shop has a hand picked range of works of art, Swedish design and products all related to the museum’s exhibitions and Bohuslän. You can tickle your tastebuds with flavours from Uddevalla and Bohuslän, including honey, jam and marmelade. There is a large selection of books for all ages as well as fine chocolates, teas and sea buckthorn flavoured water, which are produced exclusively for the shop.

Playroom and restaurant

For playful children and adults there is Lekrummet (the playroom) where, among other things, you and your children can even pilot a steamer!

If you’re feeling a bit weary after a day at the museum, take the weight off in Restaurang Kajkanten (The Quayside Restaurant). The food here is organic and made with locally produced ingredients; traditional dishes, a salad buffet and home-made buns and cakes to dip in your coffee. If you’re feeling curious, try the county speciality - äggost (egg-cheese).
