Boat included
There is a seating area in the garden and the boat with oars and motor is moored in Lake Lelången. In the summer, when the locks are open for sailing, lockage in the entire canal system is included in the rental price.
The nearest grocery shop is in Gustavsfors and the nearest larger town is Årjäng to the north or Bengtsfors to the south.
Holiday home at the lock
In spring 2023 the lockkeeper's cottage was renovated and is now a beautiful holiday home with room for 4 (max.6) persons. Fully equipped kitchen, living room with dining table and sofa bed for two persons. Bathroom with shower and toilet. On the second floor there is a passage room with 2 beds and a bedroom with a double bed. In Gustavsfors there are Restaurangs, a Museeum and a café.
Nature and culture
Gustavsfors is an old village with a history dating back to the 1740s, situated on the narrow passage between the two lakes Västra Silen and Lelången. Gustavsfors lies between Dalsland and Värmland on National Road 172. The disused Dal-Västra-Värmland railway line runs through Gustavsfors, which is now served by trolleys (between Årjäng and Bengtsfors) and trains between Mellerud and Bengtsfors. A trolley tour can be hired in Gustavsfors at Handlarn or at DVVJ. The municipality has only a few 100 inhabitants, but a lot to offer.
