Canal museum
Sjötorp
In the old harbour warehouse in Sjötorp, there is an exhibition about the history of the Göta Canal. The focus is on Sjötorp shipyard and boat traffic on the Canal, Lake Vättern and Lake Vänern. There is also an exhibition of boat models illustrating traffic on the Canal.
The museum is right in the heart of Göta Canal, with only 50 meters to the nearest locks. Maybee you will se one of the classis white passenger boats passing by.
On the ground floor of the harbour warehouse is Cafe Baltzar where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or today´s lunch. The museum is on the second and third floor. No elevator is available.
