Grand Hotel Marstrand
Royal glory that dates way back
Grand Hotell Marstrand offers a high-class accommodation in a charming archipelago scenery. The house was built in 1892 as a summer residence for king Oscar II. He spent all his summers here in room number 24. The hotel has ever since that time been well known for its contemporary charm and thoughtful architecture. Today you can enjoy our four-star hotel in the stylish rooms with sea view.
The rooms
Marvellous view
All rooms are individually furnished and many of the suits have balcony as well as sea view. After a day at sea you will sleep nicely in our comfortable beds and awake/ rouse relaxed to a new, exciting day at Marstrand.
Restaruant & Bar
The kitchen is our heart
In our kitchen, Grand Tenan, praised classics such as Fillet of Beef Africana and Tenans´ crayfish au gratin are served. Everything is prepared according to original recipes.
A tasteful view
The Veranda, with a marvellous view of the Paradise Park and the harbour, seats 100 guests. You can follow the boats coming in from a day at sea and people strolling along the dock.
A bit more secluded
If you are a small group who wants to enjoy your meal in a quiet environment, there is Tenan. This is our Chambre separée loaded with history. Small, charming and room for 24 counessours.
Something to celebrate
For the very special occasions, we recommend our wine cellar. Here you will enjoy the exclusivity and privacy special events require. Dusty vintage wine bottles cover the walls and the cellar seats 10 expectant guests.
An International Bar
Our bar, Bakfickan, is a relaxed bar in a classic sailor environment. It is a natural meeting place for visiting boat enthusiasts as well as island residents. The Bar itself is a 100 year old rudder which is worth a visit.
