The 10/10 at 10.00 Falbygdens Ost, the cheese-makers, opens its doors for the annual Christmas Market. Falbygdens Ost is situated in Falköping, about 2 hours from Gothenburg, and dates back to 1878, when the family cheese tradition began. We offer tasty Christmas presents, Father Christmases, angels, Christmas trees and a large selection of Christmas decorations. Christmas Fete at Hellekis Mansion,
Kinnekulle, 24-26 October.
By Sweden’s largest lake, Vänern, on the western slope of Kinnekulle, about 2 hours from Gothenburg, is Hellekis Mansion. The farm dates back to the 14th century and the annual Christmas Fete is held in the smithy, the grand stable, the carriage shed and the farm’s greenhouse. More than 70 craftsmen show baskets, straw craft, ornaments, ironwork etc. Don’t miss all the flavours of Christmas from the food store, the fashion show or the coffee shop. 

Christmas Fete at Dagsnäs Castle ,
20 - 23  Nov
In the old stable at Dagsnäs Castle an old-fashioned Christmas fete is held every year. Dagsnäs Castle is beautifully situated by the famous gathering place for birds, the lake Hornborgasjön, about 2 hours from Gothenburg. We offer beautiful old Swedish handicraft and a wide range of food from around 70 exhibitors. All visitors are given warm glögg and you can enjoy freshly baked cakes or a tasty Christmas lunch from the castle kitchen. The event is suitable for people with disabilities.

Christmas at Liseberg, Gothenburg
14-16 November, 21-23  November, 28-30 November and daily 3 – 23 December.
Large traditional Christmas market with plenty of Christmas spirit. Around 80 stalls and shops sell arts and crafts and delicacies, and a new design and crafts market will open in the Liseberg Tower. The Mirror Pond has turned into an ice-skating rink and many of the children’s rides are running. The restaurants serve Christmas buffets and the Ice-bar, which is run in co-operation with the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, is open. Close to five million lights in trees and on buildings illuminate the park. Gothenburg’s Lucia will be crowned here on the evening of December 12th.

Christmas Market at Halmens Hus, Bengtfors,
2-21 December
Bengtfors is situated around 2 hours north of Gothenburg, in the Swedish county with the largest number of lakes, Dalsland. Halmens Hus is Scandinavia’s only specialist museum for straw work. Here you’ll find unique gifts at reasonable prices. The weekend 6-7 December there are craftsmen at work and you can even try your hand at handicraft yourself. In the Coffee House with its old-fashioned charm, the fire is lit, and lunches and delicious cakes are served. Everything is home-cooked/home-baked.

Christmas Market at Tofta Mansion, Lycke
29-30 November, 6-7 December, 13-14 December
Tofta Farm is situated about 30 minutes north of Gothenburg, just outside Kungalv. Here you can get into the Christmas spirit in the old grain store.  Around 40 skilful craftsmen and food producers display and sell their products. On offer are for example ceramics, woodwork, wrought-iron goods, silver jewellery and various textile products. If you’re interested in food, you can buy mustard, marzipan, different marmalades, game, home-baked bread and much more.I Tofta Distillery you’ll find a Christmas Café with delicious home-baked cakes, sandwiches, light meals and genuine Christmas spirit.

Christmas Market in Haga, the oldest part of Gothenburg with cobbled streets and lots of atmosphere. Sales from shops and around 70 market stalls along Haga Nygata, with its Christmas decorations.

Old-fashioned Christmas Market at Kronhuset, Gothenburg
30 November – 14  December (closed Mondays)
Gothenburg’s oldest building has been decorated for Christmas and the smell of glögg, spruce and sugared almonds surround the market salesmen in their old-fashioned clothing – like Christmas used to be. Open 11 – 16 every day except Mondays.

Christmas in Nordstan, Gothenburg
Starts 14 November
Right in the middle of the large shopping centre Nordstan, an arts and crafts city will open, with design and handicraft products. Most of what’s sold comes from the west of Sweden. The shops and pedestrian streets in Nordstan are decorated for Christmas. Open shop hours, every day.

Christmas at Baldersnäs Country House, 
29 November - 7 December 
The Christmas market at Baldersnäs Country House, about 1.5 hours north of Gothenburg, is held twice. Baldersnäs is on a green peninsula in the lake Laxsjön, which is a part of Dalsland Canal. Its two-hundred-year history goes back to the ironworks in Dalsland. Last year more than 70 salesmen and around 7,000 visitors attended the market. Christmas meals are served in the main house, Christmas porridge, ham sandwiches as well as coffee and cakes are available at Café Stallet. There are plenty of beautiful arts and craft products.

Old-fashioned Christmas Fete at Bjertorp Castle, 
15-16 November
Welcome to Bjertorp Castle, approx 2 hours east of Gothenburg at Kvanum, to experience an old-fashioned Christmas Market. The castle in all its Christmas finery provides a festive atmosphere to the fete, which centres on local craftsmen and food producers. Mingle with visitors from the beginning of the 20th century and fill your own Christmas basket with local delicacies surrounded by the smells of gingerbread and glögg. A selection of what will be available at the fete: beestings pudding, cheeses, apple juice, chutneys, hazelnut pesto, biscotti, different types of sausages, marmalade, chocolates, beautiful paintings, fabrics, jewellery, ceramics, corn sheaves, needlework, wreaths and, naturally, Father Christmases…

Christmas market at Gunnebo,
21-23 November
Christmas market with crafts and food for the third year in a row at Gunnebo Caste. Gunnebo Castle and Gardens is one of Sweden’s finest 18th century estates and is in a beautiful location between the lakes Stensjön and Rådasjön in the town of Mölndal, about 10 minutes south of Gothenburg. The exhibitors can be found in both wings. Guided tour of the castle the 22 and 23rd December at 12.00, 13.00 and 14.00. Experience the inside of the castle on a guided tour.

An atmospheric Christmas market with a genuine farm shop right in the middle of the forest at Hunnebergs Bergagården, not far from Vänersborg, about 1 hour north of Gothenburg. The market offers only quality products, mainly from the local area, with an emphasis on natural produce – food and crafts of a high quality!
