Borås Arena

Borås Arena

The impressive Borås Arena stands like a landmark in the middle of Knalleland. The Arena was formally opened in 2005, and is the home ground of IF Elfsborg football club. It offers seating for 10,000 and standing room for 7,000 spectators, and is built with the requirements of the future in mind, including an artificial grass pitch. In addition to hosting football games, the Arena is also used for conferences and events. Many large concerts have been held here, and more will be organised in the future.
Ryahallen indoor

Ryahallen for indoor athletics

But there is more! The Ryahallen indoor athletics centre opened in 2006, and offers great practice facilities for athletes. If athletics is not your thing, you can always visit the Tennis and Boules hall, the two indoor ice rinks and curling sheets.
Animal in Borås Zoo

Borås Zoo

If it’s outdoor activities that you’re after, Borås Zoo is only a few metres away – Sweden’s first taste of Africa. On the large savannah, several different species live side-by-side, just like in Africa. Toddlers will enjoy a visit to the Children’s Zoo, where they can pet and cuddle the animals. You can also catch sight of the four largest Nordic predators – lynx, wolverine, wolf and bear.

Feel for a bath?

The Alidebergsbadet swimming baths is situated in the immediate vicinity of Borås Zoo. With its heated outdoor pool and large lawned areas, it is a popular place in summer.

Almenäs is a favourite bathing site with the residents of Borås. This great bathing site is situated only a few kilometres from the town centre, and facilities include large lawned areas, a sandy beach and pontoons.

The bathing site has been awarded the Blue Flag environmental award, which is an international recognition of quality.
