Gardens of Gothenburg
An international garden festival will make Gothenburg bloom like never before this summer.
For three months between 28 June and 28 September the city will host Gardens of Gothenburg 2008 (
www.gardensofgothenburg.com
), showcasing the talent of international and Swedish landscape architects and garden designers at four venues in and around the city. These include Gothenburg Botanical Garden (including Sweden’s gold medal winning garden at the 2007 Chelsea Flower Show), the Garden Society of Gothenburg garden (Trädgårdsföreningen), Liseberg Park and Gunnebo House and Gardens. Gunnebo will be creating an historical kitchen garden and, in contrast, a futuristic kitchen garden. Three Show Gardens by international designers will offer answers to the question: what will tomorrow’s kitchen garden look like?
