Handelsman Flink hotel, located on the idyllic archipelago island of Flaton, is putting on a summer programme of traditional Swedish music and fine food to treat the senses. Each week diners can listen to traditional Swedish folk music composed by Taube and Cornelis in the hotel restaurant. Together with a series of seafood evenings, the summer programme takes place between now and 17 August on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays each week. The Taube evenings, including a three-course dinner, cost 455 SEK (approx. £38) pp. Cornelis evenings, for which visitors are free to take something to eat and drink themselves, cost 50 SEK (£4) pp (www.handelsmanflink.se).

From 22 September, the start of the lobster season, Handelsman Flink is offering lobster safaris in which guests can join a fishing boat to help harvest the lobsters before returning to the hotel to help cook their supper. Two-day packages cost 3,500 SEK (approx. £295) pp. This includes lunch on arrival, the lobster safari, one night’s B&B (two sharing a double room), and use of the hotel’s jacuzzi and sauna.
