The park at Baldersnäs was laid out in the 1820s in the style of the English park. It’s a romantic place, where open spaces blend with verdant groves and hills. There are also walking paths, caves and man-made islets.
The modern-day manor features two single rooms and seven double rooms with hotel standard, and the adjacent annex includes seven more basic double rooms.
Baldersnäs Manor serves special menus for group lunches, all with elements from the food culture of Dalsland. It also hosts weddings and other special events.
Baldersnäs is also a nature reserve, which includes Dalsland’s Nature Room, where you can learn about the local geology, flora, fauna and cultural history. At Baldersnäs you’ll find a fine range of straw goods and other crafts, and in ”Rian”, the storehouse, you can buy genuine Dalsland crafts.
The storehouse is open every day from June to August, from 11 am to 6 pm. The grand avenue of elms leading from the boat harbour up to the manor house is evidence that this was one of the main approaches to Baldersnäs.
At the guest harbour in the Dalsland Canal system, there is a service building and capacity for some 30 pleasure craft. It is also possible to get on or off the canal boats that operate between Bengtsfors and Håverud in summer.
Painting courses, exhibitions and various events such as the ”Veteran Classic Show” for cars all take place during summer, and in autumn you can take in ”Christmas at Baldersnäs”.
