Dalsland Canal
Dalsland Canal was finalised in 1868. In Håverud they were unable to build the usual lock structure; instead an aqueduct was erected, which became a popular visitor destination. The canal has 31 locks and 16 guest harbours. At www.dalslandskanal.se you will find all the information you need about travelling by boat along the canal.
Göta Canal
Göta Canal is one of the largest building projects ever undertaken in Sweden. The canal is 190 kilometres long, has 58 locks and 19 guest harbours. Trollhätte Canal
In the year 2000, 200 years had passed since the first locking system in Trollhättan was ready. This meant that ships could travel all the way from Vänersborg by Lake Vänern, to Gothenburg on the west coast. For more information: www.sjofartsverket.se
