This is where we find the kayakers. And isn't it true that we are all a little jealous of these 'outdoor people', who splash about by the water's edge and manage to get in and out everywhere.

Don’t just sit there feeling jealous – get a kayak yourself. Over the years we have always equipped our pleasure boats with other means of transport. Rubber dinghies, wind surfing boards and bikes have long been a common sight on deck, so we can satisfy our need for exploring once the boat is moored. A kayak doesn’t take up much room and kayaking is actually not as adventurous and dangerous as many people think. Kayaking is both easy and fun. A few hours practice and a whole new part of the archipelago is accessible for exciting expeditions.

If you’re unsure, but still curious there are several good kayak rental firms along the coast that also arrange courses and guided trips. Give it a try this summer when you are in the area anyway and it won’t be long before your own kayak is lashed on deck.
