Västsvensk Mersmak was started in 2000 by the West of Sweden Tourist Board, with the aim to further develop the already well-renowned cuisine of the west of Sweden, improve the co-operation between restaurants and producers of raw materials, and enrich both visitors and inhabitants of the region with varied food experiences, worth as well a gourmet trip as a detour. Not surprising, this venture was a big success from the start with restaurateurs as well as producers of raw materials in excellent shape.
In 2008 we have 25 certified restaurants and a long line of enthusiastic producers of raw materials.
All accredited restaurants display our Västsvensk Mersmak plate edged in blue as a mark of the highest quality and a guarantee to you of a gastronomic experience to remember.
