Responsibility for personal data
Turistrådet Västsverige AB (The Tourist Board) is responsible for the processing of personal data on this website. The Tourist Board has appointed a personal data representative, in order to ensure that the personal data is managed correctly. For information on how you can contact us, see under “Contact us” at the bottom of this page.
Principle of Public Access
The Tourist Board is a public organization, which means that messages are sent to us are public documents.
Processing of personal data
Our aim is that you will feel secure when you submit your personal data to us. We take all reasonable measures to protect your personal data. All processing of personal data is in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR).
When and how are personal data processed?
Personal data (name, phone number and email) are saved in our CRM system so we can carry out our assignment. This applies to contacts for different types of partners, e.g. tourism companies, tourism organizations, local governments, politicians, etc. The data is deleted when obsolete.
Personal data (name, phone number and email) that is submitted when applying for courses or seminars is only saved as long as required for administration, for instance mailing out course materials and evaluations. In cases where we charge for courses or seminars, invoicing details are saved as per current accounting legislation.
Personal information (name, company name, telephone number and e-mail address) provided in connection with a request in the Venue Finder is only stored for as long as is required for administrative purposes; i.e. until the information has been sent to third parties (hotels and conference facility providers). Third parties may save this information.
Personal data (name, address, phone number and email) that is submitted when ordering our publications is only saved as long as required to carry out the mail-out or order. In cases where we charge for the material, invoicing details are saved as per current accounting legislation.
Personal data (name and email) that is submitted for competitions is only saved as long as required to appoint a winner.
Personal data (name and email) that is submitted in conjunction with subscriptions to our newsletter is only saved as long as you are a subscriber. When you unsubscribe we delete your personal data.
When you apply for or express interest in a job with us, take part in questionnaires or want to be contacted by us, we use your personal data for the purposes for which you have submitted it.
In other situations, the data you have chosen to submit will be registered. The Tourism Board has a policy not to collect and register sensitive personal data. However if you want to submit information on allergies or special meal requirements, we assume that you want this information to be registered with us.
Your personal data will not be stored longer than necessary in order to fulfil the purposes of the processing as they are described in this policy. Your personal data will be screened or anonymized when it is no longer relevant for the purposes for which it was gathered.
Because the Archives Act and the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act take precedence over the GDPR, personal data that is considered a public document may be given to a third party.
Images and film
Necessary consent has been gathered for all images and film used by the Tourist Board.
Visitor identification – cookies and logs
Most web browsers are preset to accept cookies. If you don’t want cookies to be stored in your computer, you can set your web browser to notify you when it receives a cookie. Then you can decide yourself whether to accept it or not.
We compile statistics of number of visitors, views of individual pages, the web addresses visitors come from and the search engine and search terms used to get to our website. Consequently we collect information on domain names, web browsers and operative systems, the time you reached our website and from where you linked to our site.
The Tourist Board’s website vastsverige.com contains links to other websites. This policy does not apply to these websites. You should consult the integrity policies of these websites before providing your personal data.

Right to request information
You have the right to information on any of your personal data that we hold. You can do this for free, once per calendar year, by way of a written, signed application. The application must be from you and sent to the West Tourist Board; see contact details below.
If you feel that your personal data is incorrect, please contact the Tourist Board so it can be corrected.
You also have the right to ask us to delete all information we have stored about you. This is known as the right to be forgotten.
