Boattrips on the Dalsland Canal

Enjoy the canal from the front deck! Those who do not have access to their own boat or would rather choose the comfortable excursion can experience the Dalsland canal with passenger boat.

Enjoy the canal from a chair on the front deck - you who do not have access to your own boat or would rather choose the comfortable excursion can experience the Dalsland canal with passenger boat. Two shipping companies operate the lake system during the sailing season. The shipping companies offer both tours according to a fixed tour list or charter arrangements - throughout the lake system.

The canal is open for passenger boat traffic from May 1 to September 30 (in some cases even later in the fall). The boats go on tour list during peak season - see below for tour listings.

Boattrip between Håverud and Bengtsfors, or reverse

M/S Dalslandia and M/S Storholmen go between Håverud and Bengtsfors and meet in Råvarpen. An entire trip takes about 5 hours, and there is food and coffee to buy on the boats. Pre-order your lunch!

This trip can also be shortened so that you only go half the route. Either Håverud - Långbron (about 3 hours) or Bengtsfors - Långbron (about 2 hours).

All trips are available with a return trip by DVVJ's train.

Boattrip around Håverud

A trip with M/S Nils Ericson af Håverud, which starts off in Håverud, goes through the Aqueduct, up to the lake Åklång and on through the hand-operated lock in Buterud. After a tour of Råvarp we go back to and through the locks in Håverud. The tour takes about 3.5 hours and is thus a roundtrip.
