Bredared hiking trails
Bredared

Stunning scenery with a wild feeling

Bredared’s two walking trails offer stunning scenery and a taste of the wilderness over 7.5 and 13 km respectively. The waymarked paths go by several lakes and viewpoints, as well as a number of croft ruins, and even other interesting phenomena such as the dead ice sink at Lake Habeltorpa, where there is also a lovely swimming area.

Start and end point

The paths start and end at Klockaregården in Bredared, right opposite the school. Here you can find a large car park if you get there by car.
Bredared is in Borås municipality.

What to see

The White Trail: 13 km

The White Trail is very hilly in some places, most of it being on paths winding through beautiful pine forests, where you get an exhilarating feeling of being far from civilisation. The trail passes several lakes and viewpoints, including the one at Veksjöberg where you get a fantastic view in several directions.

The Blue Trail: 7.5 km

The Blue Trail is not quite as undulating,  most of it also being on paths winding through beautiful pine forests. A short stretch of the trail goes through the oak groves in the Bredared reserve, owned by the Swedish Church, a very beautiful spot with huge, single growing oaks, as well as a large number of ancient cairns.

Services

Along the trails there are no public rest areas with tables and benches, but there are many lovely spots where you’ll want to stop and have a picnic. We highly recommend a stop at the Veksjöberget viewpoint.
Nearby overnight cottage accommodation can be found at Bredared Golf Club.
