Getting to and around Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle

There are a variety of options for getting to and around Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle. Here are some transport suggestions.

The Kinnekulle train service
If coming from Gothenburg or Örebro (terminus stations for the service), you can take the Kinnekulle train service to Lidköping and Kinnekulle. There are several direct trains, although in some instances you need to change in Herrljunga when coming from Gothenburg. They take you smoothly and conveniently from Gothenburg to Lidköping and Kinnekulle in under two hours.

The Kinnekulle line takes you right out into the picturesque scenery of Kinnekulle. You can alight at the stations at Forshem, Hällekis, Råbäck, Blomberg, Trolmen and Källby. All of these are close to the various sights of Kinnekulle. The train runs to a scheduled timetable, with several services a day in both directions.

Bus
Travelling by public transport can be a delightful experience. Simply step aboard the bus and settle back in your comfy seat with an interesting book or magazine. If you are coming from Stockholm, there’s a direct bus – Skaraborgaren. It takes you to and from Lidköping in around 5 hours. If you are coming from Skövde or perhaps Trollhättan, there are direct buses several times a day.

Once you arrive at your destination, you can take the bus to the fishing village of Spiken, Kinnekulle, Tun or, in summer, Läckö Castle, for instance. Car hire
If you come without a car and want to hire one here in Destination Läckö-Kinnekulle, there are several hire firms to choose from.

These include Avis, HertzEuropcar, Åkessons bil and Härene bil. You may want a sports car, a minibus, a small car or a family car. Most options are available from these firms.

Campervan
If you come with a campervan and want an overnight pitch, there are several locations to choose from. For example, by Läckö Castle, Hällekis harbour or Lundsbrunns golf.
