Kinnekulle MTB trails
MTB trails on Kinnekulle offer six different lengths and levels of difficulty. The trails are purpose-built, so they are suitable for both beginners and professionals. There is scope for everything from a leisurely ride to demanding ascents and steep hills.
All trails are clearly marked with colour coding and there are four information boards. These are sited at Kinnekullegården, Kinnekulle Observation Tower, above the marina in Hällekis and at Café på Klostret in Blomberg. The information boards show all the trails for MTB, hiking and skiing. There is also a panel listing rules that apply to the trails. For increased safety, cyclists must travel in the same direction on all trails.
Kinnekulle is an area of outstanding natural beauty with an extraordinary concentration of valuable landscapes and a large number of rare plants and animals. The MTB trails also aim to preserve the landscape by keeping mountain-bikers to the marked routes.
The MTB trails cover a total of 31.3 km and are graded as follows:
Yellow – Intervallslingan – Moderately difficult – 1.0 km
Red – Sprängestan – Difficult – 2.8 km
Violet – Toppslingan – Moderate to difficult – 5.0 km
Pale blue – Bestorpslingan – Easy to moderate – 10.3 km
Dark blue – Skagenslingan – Moderate – 8.4 km
