Imaginative, colourful exhibitions

The Canal Museum was renovated in 1997 and ever since then it has been proud of its educational and imaginative exhibition, where colour and shape are given free rein. Old environments have been rebuilt to show what life was once like when the canal was constructed. It also shows collections from past times when the area was seething with activities such as ironworks, sawmills, shipyards, brick kilns and paper mills. Visitors travel backwards in time in a lyrical atmosphere.
