Sailing school

Stora Stenars Segelsällskap presents one of the largest sailing schools on the west coast with over 100 participants every summer. What attracts people to Stora Stenar might be the great location, or maybe the many well-educated instructors who takes care of the children at the sailing school. Information

What is included in the one-week sailing school? To start with, you will learn how to sail and get the knowledge about how to operate on the water as well as which fisherman's knots to use. The week consists of 27 class hours divided into theory, practice, and other fun stuff. On the last day of the course, the Friday, the participants receive a diploma for finishing the course. All participants also receive a SSSS T-shirt that shows that they have taken a course at the sailing school.

• The course fee for the entire week is 1000:-. For those who don’t have their own optimist there is an additional 500:- fee for boat rental.
• There is a family discount of 300:- for every additional sibling after the two first participants.
• We start daily at 10am and go on until 4pm (Friday until 1pm) and the children should bring their own lunch pack
• At registration we need to know the name, date of birth, and if you have your own boat or not as well as which week you want to attend the sailing school
• Note: all participants need to know how to swim and a certain ability to read is required.

E6, road 163 towards Fjällbacka and Hamburgsund. Follow signs to Hamburgsund and the ferry. When you arrive at Hamburgö, drive as far out on the island as possible, southwest.
