How to Play Padel

Imagine a delightful blend of tennis and squash, and you have padel.
It's a perfect sport for those looking to try a new and rapidly growing form of exercise while having a great time. Padel is social, easy to learn, and suitable for all - both adults and children, whether you have prior experience or not. If you can hit a ball, you can play padel.

Rules

A padel court measures 10 x 20 meters of pure fun, surrounded by three-meter-high glass walls. These walls can also be used during play. The court is divided in half by a net, and the game is always played as a doubles match with four players.

Scoring follows the same format as tennis, with each point beginning with an underhand serve. The racket must not pass above waist height.

For the first point in each game, the server must stand to the right of the centerline and serve diagonally. The ball must clear the net and bounce in the service box. Afterward, the sides alternate.

You have two serves. The lines are only in use during the serve; after that, the entire court is your playing area. When serving, you must not hit the side walls after the bounce, only the glass walls.

It is allowed to play volleys and half-volleys. The ball can bounce on the ground and up against the side or back wall before it is hit back to the opponent's side. You can hit the ball against the glass walls on your own side to get it over to the opponent's side.

Lost Points

If the ball bounces twice on your side or hits a player, you lose the point. The ball must always hit the ground first and cannot be played directly into your opponent's walls.

Scoring

Padel is scored similarly to tennis with points, games, and sets. Games are scored as 15/30/40/game. To win a set, you need to win at least six games and be ahead by at least two games. At 6-6, a tiebreak is played, with the first to 7 points winning.
Typically, you play padel matches to the best out of 3 or 5 sets.
