Ekedalen

Bruksdammen - located about 1 mile north of Tidaholm, Bruksdammen is a bathing spot with historical significance dating back to the time when Övertorp's alum factory was situated in this area.
It is a clear spring-fed lake with visibility to the bottom, created by the old limestone quarry that once occupied the site. The water in the lake was used to extinguish the alum when it was burned.
Here, you can barbecue and enjoy the view over the lake.

Folkabo

Otterstorpasjön - located between Folkabo and Vättak, approximately 1.5 miles southwest of Tidaholm, this bathing spot is set in a forest environment, away from residential areas.
There are tables with seating for those who want to barbecue.

Fröjered

Fröjereds badplats - in the small village of Fröjered, about 1 mile north of Tidaholm, you'll find the municipality's most active bathing spot. The spot along the Tidan River has a beautiful sandy beach with a pier extending into the water. The site also features a playground, mini-golf course, a tennis court, and a beach volleyball court. There are also barbecue spots and wilderness camping available in the area.

Hökensås

Björnsjön - this is where it all began with sport fishing at Hökensås. The lake is a forest lake of approximately 4 hectares with clear water. It features two large docks, several tables, a fireplace, and shelters. The docks and tables are wheelchair-accessible, making Björnsjön one of the two handicap-accessible lakes at Hökensås.

Hållsdammsbäcken - is the barbecue spot located furthest south at Hökensås. It also has a shelter.

Ibbesjön - is a clearwater lake of about 4.5 hectares. It is the closest lake to the fishing center.
The hiking trail Västra Vätterleden passes by the lake, where there is a shelter for those who enjoy adventures. There is also a barbecue spot with tables and seating.

Lilla Havssjön - is an 11-hectare clearwater lake. The lake is the local bathing paradise for Tidaholm residents, with docks and a diving tower for the daring.

Nordvattnet - is one of the larger lakes, consisting of two parts connected in the middle by a narrow strait with an island. The lake features clear and fine water with reeds, lily edges, capes, and coves.

Store Grubben - has a diverse shoreline with coves and capes. There is a barbecue spot with tables and seating.

Store Öjasjön - is a very popular fishing option at Hökensås. Its location, adjacent to Göl 39 and Lille Öjasjön, offers plenty of fishing opportunities in the vicinity. There are two barbecue spots with tables and seating by the lake, one slightly further north and one at the parking area between Store Öjasjön and Göl 39.

Sydvattnet - the lake is connected to Enesjön through a narrow strait. Two barbecue spots with seating are available.

Vitsjön - the lake is located in the Hyltans nature reserve, protected since 2001, and covers an area of 20 hectares. The area is hilly with ridges, hills, and kettle holes. The lake is approximately 1 mile east of Tidaholm, towards Lake Vättern. The Western Vätter Trail passes through the reserve on a ridge between Hyltesjön and Vitsjön. There are shelters and tables with seating.

Kungslena

 

Högeklint - starting from beautiful Kungslena, there is a hiking trail to Högeklint, an overlook on Varvsberget where, on a clear day, you have a vast view. The barbecue spot is the natural place for a break on the 3.4 km circular hiking trail that begins and ends in Kungslena. The hiking trail takes you past the ruins of Lenaborg.

Madängsholm

Aspängsbadet - Tidan River flows through the smaller village of Madängsholm, located about 6 km south of Tidaholm. Here, you'll find a small, cozy barbecue spot.

Tidaholm

Bruksvilleparken - Located right in the heart of central Tidaholm, alongside Tidan River, you'll find the beautiful Bruksvilleparken, featuring numerous attractions. Here, you can explore Tidaholm Art Hall, charming old smithy buildings, and outdoor art. At the barbecue spot, you'll find tables with seating.

SISU-stugan on Hellidsberget - Situated on Hellidsberget in the eastern part of Tidaholm, SISU-stugan (SISU cottage) offers well-maintained hiking trails in a delightful natural setting.
The trails come in varying lengths, ensuring there's something for everyone. The barbecue spot is located on the right side of the cottage.

Hellidsberget Ski Slope - At the top of the ski slope on Hellidsberget in the eastern part of Tidaholm, you'll find a lovely barbecue spot with a beautiful view over the city.

Stadsparken - This charming green oasis is located right in the heart of central Tidaholm and features a playground with several fun activities. At the barbecue spot, you'll find tables with seating.

When you're having a picnic, remember to:

  • Use designated barbecue spots.
  • Always keep an eye on the fire.
  • Avoid barbecuing when it's windy.
  • Ensure the fire is completely extinguished before you leave - no embers should remain!
